How do I know what size to order?

Use your shoe size as the starting point. Check our Size Chart to ensure a proper fit. If you're in between sizes, go down for more compression or up for more comfort.

In between sizes?

Size down for a tighter feel, or up for more comfort—especially if you're new to compression.

Do Comrad socks fit wide calves?

Yes! We make wide calf sizes in many of our styles. Our socks are designed with stretch-friendly knits and flexible cuffs to comfortably fit a variety of leg shapes. If your calf circumference is over 17", we recommend choosing one of our wide-calf-friendly options for the best fit and feel.

How do I measure for a wide calf fit?

To get the most accurate fit, measure your calf at its widest point:

Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor.
Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of your calf at the widest part (usually about 8”- 12" below your knee).
Compare your measurement to our size chart. If your calf circumference is over 17 inches, we recommend our wide-calf-friendly styles available here.

My socks feel tight—is that normal?

Compression socks are designed to feel snug but not painful. If they feel overly restrictive or hard to put on, you may need a different size or lower compression level. They should feel like a comfortable hug around your legs.

Why do some of your socks feel tighter than others?

Several factors can affect how tight a pair of socks feels, even if they’re the same size and compression level:

Compression level: Our Knee-High Socks come in 10-15 mmHg, 15–20 mmHg (moderate) and 20–30 mmHg (firm) compression. Higher compression will naturally feel tighter.
Fabric & knit: Different materials (like cotton vs. nylon) can affect stretch and snugness. Cotton styles will have more stretch while nylon fabrics will feel more snug.
Style & design: Our knee-high, ankle, and crew styles all fit slightly differently based on how and where they apply compression.
Wear & wash: Over time, compression socks may stretch slightly with wear—or feel tighter right after washing and air-drying.
