30–40 mmHg Compression Socks — Safety, Use & Terms
Effective date: 1/10/2025
Brand/Manufacturer: [Jack Lilly, LLC] (“Company,” “we,” “us”)
Product: 30–40 mmHg graduated compression socks (“Product”)
1) Read this first
This page provides general information about safe use of high compression socks. It is not medical advice. Compression at 30–40 mmHg is a high level and may not be appropriate for everyone. When in doubt, consult a licensed healthcare professional before use.
2) Intended use
The Product is intended to provide graduated compression to the lower legs for support and comfort. The Product is not a substitute for professional medical care and does not replace diagnosis or treatment by a healthcare professional.
3) Who should NOT use (or should consult a clinician first)
Do not use the Product, or use only under medical direction, if you have known or suspected severe peripheral arterial disease (PAD) or significantly reduced arterial circulation. Severe PAD is commonly treated as a contraindication for sustained compression therapy, especially when ankle/toe pressures are very low.
Consult a clinician before use if you have, or suspect you have, any of the following:
-
PAD or symptoms of poor arterial circulation (e.g., leg pain with walking, cold feet, non-healing sores).
-
Diabetes with reduced sensation/neuropathy, or any condition that reduces sensation in your feet/legs.
-
Heart failure or significant cardiovascular disease (compression may be inappropriate in certain cases and requires clinical judgment).
-
Significant swelling of unknown cause, a history of blood clots, active skin infection/cellulitis, open wounds, or fragile skin. (Ask your clinician for individualized guidance.)
4) Stop use immediately if you notice any warning signs
Remove the Product and seek medical advice if you experience:
-
Pain, worsening discomfort, cramping
-
Numbness, tingling, or loss of sensation
-
Discoloration (pale/blue/purple), coldness of toes/feet, or reduced capillary refill
-
New or worsening swelling
-
Skin irritation, rash, blisters, sores, or broken skin
5) Correct sizing matters (mis-sizing can cause injury)
Using the wrong size can cause discomfort and may increase risk of skin injury.
-
Measure ankle (narrowest point above ankle bone) and calf (widest point) and choose size per the chart on packaging or product page.
-
If you are between sizes, or have very muscular calves, edema, or vascular disease, consult a clinician for sizing guidance.
6) How to put them on safely
-
Ensure skin is dry. Remove jewelry that could snag fabric.
-
Turn sock partially inside-out to the heel, place foot in, then gently pull up.
-
Smooth fabric up the leg; avoid wrinkles.
-
Do not fold, roll down, or bunch the top band.
-
If you use lotion, allow it to absorb fully before wearing.
Daily check: Remove at least once daily and inspect skin. If you have reduced sensation, check more often.
7) Wear time guidance
Wear duration varies by person and condition. If your clinician has advised a specific schedule, follow it. Otherwise:
-
Start with shorter periods and increase gradually if comfortable.
-
Do not sleep in the Product unless instructed by a clinician.
8) Care & maintenance
-
Wash before first use.
-
Follow the care instructions on the Product label (recommended: gentle cycle, cold water; lay flat to dry).
-
Replace if the Product becomes overstretched, damaged, loses elasticity, or no longer fits properly.
9) Materials & sensitivities
If you have known skin sensitivities or allergies, review the fiber content on the packaging/product page. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
10) Terms, disclaimers, and limitation of liability
Use at your own risk. By using the Product, you agree to follow all instructions and warnings.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY (to the fullest extent permitted by law):
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the Company and its owners, employees, agents, suppliers, and sellers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the Product or its use, including but not limited to misuse, incorrect sizing, failure to follow instructions/warnings, or use without appropriate medical guidance when indicated.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limits may not apply to you. Your statutory rights may vary by location.
11) Limited warranty
Limited Warranty: The Company warrants that the Product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 30 days from the date of purchase when used under normal conditions and cared for per instructions.
What we will do: At our option, we will replace the Product or refund the purchase price upon proof of purchase.
What is not covered: Normal wear and tear, damage from misuse, incorrect sizing, failure to follow instructions, alterations, or improper care.
