What if I'm in between sizes?

Size down for a tighter feel, or up for more comfort—especially if you're new to compression. You can also email with any questions or concerns regarding sizing.

Do Comrad socks fit wide calves?

Yes! We make wide calf sizes in many of our knee-high styles. If your calf circumference is over 17", measured at the widest part of your calf, we recommend choosing one of our wide-calf-friendly options for the best fit and feel.

Why do some of my socks feel tighter than others?

Several factors can affect how tight a pair of socks feels, even if they're the same size and compression level:

  • Compression Level: Our Knee-High Socks come in both 15–20 mmHg (moderate) and 20–30 mmHg (firm) compression. Higher compression will naturally feel tighter.
  • Fabric & Knit: Different materials (like cotton vs. nylon) and knit constructions can affect stretch and snugness.
  • Wear & Wash History: Over time, compression socks may stretch slightly with wear—or feel tighter right after washing and air-drying.

The Best Compression Socks

"Comrad immediately caught our eye because of their modern styling. These socks suffered no visible damage after a trip through the washer and dryer."

True Graduated Compression™

This is the most effective form of compression, offering a medically designed gradient-level of support. True Graduated Compression™ or pressure stockings work by creating precise amounts of pressure at different parts of your legs & feet for optimal circulation. Typically tighter at the ankles and looser, going up the legs to help blood flow freely instead of pooling.

These are very comfortable and the material is soft and breathable! I love the light pink color. Got these to wear through my third trimester of pregnancy- so far I am able to put them on by myself (which is surprising, as bending over is tough). They provide great support and peace of mind.

    Knee-High Compression Socks – Stripes

    Great quality

Even with the excellent compression, these are comfortable to wear for 8 hours, if not more. The material is substantial and strong without being too bulky. And I like the stripes!

    Knee-High Compression Socks – Solid

    Does the trick

These socks were comfortable enough to sleep in all night! They come up high, just under my knee joint, and in other sock brands, sometimes the elastic in the top band really hurts, but these were comfy for 8 hours. I also machine-washed them on delicate and air-dried them overnight. The socks kept their shape and are as good as new.

Ps. This has nothing to do with quality. I'm 74 with back and hip arthritis. Even though I gather them up first, it's SO hard for me to get these socks on because of all the bending and hand strength required. I'd love any tips.
