Who Really Wears Compression Socks?

If you’re like many people, you probably think compression socks are for the elderly, diabetics, or someone who recently had surgery. But did you know almost anyone can benefit from wearing compression socks?

I’ve been challenged on this topic for the past two years, while building COMRAD, by people who ask me what I do. When I tell them about our super comfortable socks with benefits—which incorporate graduated compression—I commonly hear things like this:

“I’m healthy, so I don’t need compression.”

“I think my grandma wears compression socks, so I definitely don’t need them.”

“I know someone who had to wear compression socks but they had a medical condition, that’s not me.”

"You mean, like, running socks?"

What most people don't realize is that compression socks come in a variety of support levels—the higher the support, the more likely they’re for medical use. However, by utilizing what I like to call the "sweet spot" of compression (15-20 mmhg) we’ve been able to create a comfortable, everyday sock that has all the benefits of graduated compression, without the discomfort, high price, or ugliness (sorry, but medical socks ain't sexy) of traditional compression socks.

The Companions are designed for anyone and everyone --think long flights, after a workout, during a run, at the office, on set, in the kitchen, the list goes on. The right compression socks can even prevent varicose and spider veins.

That’s why we like to say, COMRAD is with you Every Step of the Way.
